Introduction to Archery Equipment
Basic archery equipment can be relatively cheap to buy. This is one of the factors
which makes the sport accessible. A basic beginner's recurve bow will cost, complete
with a set of arrows, around about £100-120 (see graphic below). In addition
to the bow and arrows, you will also need a finger tab, an arm guard and chest guard.
These may well be extra - but only about another £15-20. By far the best way
of making sure you do not waste your money on unsuitable equipment is to use a club
set until you:-
a. decide archery is the sport for you
b. have had a chance to try different bow types and setups (courtesy of other
club members!)
Once you're hooked on the sport, moving up the quality/performance scale can also
be achieved on a tight budget - as there is a active 'second-hand' market.
