History Of Archery
Bowmen were the most valuable assets of many armies throughout early history and
some of their exploits, like those of Robin Hood, have become the stuff of legends.
Their ancient skills and traditions are kept alive today by the many clubs practicing
archery as a sport in one of its many forms.
The bow and other equipment have been developed to such an extent, that in the hands
of a good archer, phenomenal accuracy and distances are now achievable. Despite this, the origins of many techniques,
tournaments, rules and etiquette can still be traced back to medieval times or earlier.
As a sport, archery is open to very wide range of ages and
abilities - giving opportunities for both team and individual competition, or just
sheer enjoyment!!
If you would like to try your hand at archery, or need further information, why
